The 2016 BVI triathlon and aquathon calendar will see nine events, starting with the tri-tasting Try A Tri on Sunday, January 31, and finishing with the CaneChristmasAthon on December 10th.
In the third annual Semi Steel held on Sunday (November 2) on Beef Island, Russell Crumpler successfully defended his 2014 title and broke the course record established by Antony Spencer in 2013.
Competition in the Ladies division for the 4 Islands Cup is hotting up.
Kay Reddy catapulting herself back to the top of the leaderboard after competing in the Peter Island-Athlon while her two nearest competitors, Tash Ruscheinski and Jenny McIvor, opted to compete in the Aquathlon instead ceding valuable points to Kay.
On Saturday, the BVI Triathlon Federation hosted several events at Peter Island Resort to raise money for the Family Support Network organisation.
￼The event featured a triathlon, an aquathon and Zumba. The triathlon consisted of a 1,000-metre swim, a five-mile bike ride and a four-mile run. There was also a team division. The aquathlon featured a 400-metre swim and a two-mile run. After the adult divisions finished, there was a youth event, which consisted of a 50-metre swim, an 800-metre bike and a 100-metre run.
