Richard Morgan and Sue Tucker new national champions

In the BVI Triathlon’s National Sprint Champs held on Saturday, Richard Morgan, 2012 national champion, re-gained his mens title. Sue Tucker became the Ladies champion, setting a new course record, which was also broken by the second and third place ladies too.

Morgan clocked a time of 1 hour, 16 minutes and 16 seconds, taking the title from last year’s winner Russel Crumpler. Crumpler didn’t defend his title but Morgan’s time was just under three and half minutes faster than Crumpler’s 2013 winning time and just under two minutes faster than his 2012 time. Guy Williamson was a scant 1 minute and 2 seconds behind Morgan for second place and Adrian Dale was third.

“Introduction to Triathlon” Youth Event This Weekend

And they're off - Under 11 individual start

The BVI Triathlon Federation is kicking of its Youth Development Programme on Saturday April 12 with an ‘Introduction to Triathlon and Training” session at Cane Garden Bay. It’s an intro to Triathlon – swimming, running and lots of fun!

The session will be held on the beach across the road from the small Methodist church. Start at 8.30am, finish at 10.00am.

Reddy breaks Women’s Record in X-Tri

Veteran triathlete Kay Reddy broke the women’s X-Tri record last weekend taking just under 2 minutes off the time set by Carolina Pettigrew in 2006 with a finsh time of 58 minutes and 24 seconds. In the men’s division, there was a terrific tussle between the returning Adrian Copacaneau fresh from a two year sabbatical training in the rugged mountains of Transylvania and the wing-heeled Achilles himself Guy Williamson.
